Time: 10 AM-11:00 AM
Location: Sage Society Ventura
Join Dr Laura, PT at Sage Society Ventura for a workshop on Perimenopause and how it is more than changes in your period and hot flashes. Sage Society in Ventura is a women’s gym in Ventura, focused on functional strength training and also offers childcare. As hormones fluctuate, your body can experience changes in muscle, connective tissue, recovery, bladder and bowel function, pelvic floor health, and how you feel during exercise.
Join pelvic health physical therapist Laura from Dynamic Flow Physical Therapy for an empowering, practical conversation about what’s happening in your body during perimenopause and what you can do about it.
We’ll discuss:
How hormonal changes can affect your muscles, joints, core and pelvic floor
Why you may notice changes in strength, recovery, body composition or exercise tolerance
Bladder leakage, pelvic pressure, prolapse and other symptoms that can show up during this stage
How your breathing, core and pelvic floor work together
What symptoms are common and what shouldn’t simply be dismissed as “just menopause”
How to modify and approach exercise to support your changing body
You’ll leave with a better understanding of your body, practical strategies you can start using now, and a clearer idea of when pelvic health physical therapy may be able to help. Contact the gym to sign up!
